Those seeking inspiration for fall decorations and garden displays need look no further than the Greensburg Garden Center’s fall house tour and garden party.

The event, scheduled for Saturday, includes a tour of a mid-century modern home and just under two acres of gardens.

In addition to highlighting fall decor and a “really unusual” home with unique features, garden center Co-President Carla Rusnica said part of the proceeds for the event will support the center’s scholarship fund — the Katherine McKenna Scholarship.

The scholarship gives $1,500 every year to a college student pursuing a degree in botany, horticulture, forestry, landscape architecture or another related field. To learn more about the scholarship, visit the “Scholarship — GGC” tab on the garden center’s website.

The property will be decorated with fall decor by Country Farms garden center and landscape service in Hempfield and Silvis Group landscaping in East Huntingdon. Decorations will be available for purchase.

A buffet and seasonal drinks — including hot mulled apple cider— will be included in the ticket cost. After touring the home, attendees can mill around the gardens with their food and beverages.

Music entertainment will be provided by country artist Gary Pratt, owner of Le Jardin Florals in Greensburg.

The garden center hosted an event similar to this five years ago at an old farmhouse location, Rusnica said.

The garden center has sold 85 tickets so far. Rusnica hopes to see 100 people at the event.
