A Lancaster County nursing home resident is facing criminal charges after he befriended a visitor’s child and showed them child pornography he kept on his cellphone, police said.

Kenneth F. Kuehne, 74, had hundreds of photos of naked children on his phone when he showed some to a 14-year-old visiting the Lancaster Nursing and Rehabilitation nursing home in December 2022, according to Manheim Township police.

Police said the 14-year-old’s parent reported Kuehne, and a nurse’s aide found the images on Kuehne’s phone.

“Another nurse’s aide who had assisted Kuehne with his cellphone explained that ‘tons’ of photographs of little boys kept appearing on the files in his phone,” police said.

Kuehne admitted to having the photos and said they were for “personal use,” according to police.

Earlier this month, Kuehne was charged with two counts of child porn and two counts of criminal use of a communication facility, according to online court records. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 23 in front of Magisterial District Judge Mary Sponaugle.
