Allegheny County Police have charged an 18-year-old driver involved in a one-vehicle Christmas Eve crash in Sewickley Heights in which one passenger was injured, and another one died.
The driver, Luke Flowers, turned himself in Saturday morning, county police said. He faced a warrant charging him with with homicide by vehicle while DUI, aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, involuntary manslaughter, driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances and traffic violations.
Sewickley Heights Police and paramedics responded to the 500 block of Fern Hollow Road about 10:15 p.m. Christmas Eve where an Audi Q5 with three people inside had left the road and come to rest on a hillside about 30 feet off the road , according to county police.
The two female passengers were taken to area hospitals where, according to the county medical examiner, 20-year-old Camden Kiggins of Sewickley died about 4 p.m. Christmas Day. Flowers was not hurt.
County homicide detectives and the Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated, determining Flowers was responsible for the crash, county police said.
He was to be held in the Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh awaiting arraignment.
