A portion of Mt. Royal Boulevard in Hampton was closed down Wednesday and residents were without power after a tree fell and knocked down power lines.

More than 900 properties have had their power restored, after being without the utility for hours.

Duquesne Light crews were on the scene before 7 a.m. and power was restored before noon.

A section of Mt. Royal was closed near Duncan Avenue. Motorists were detoured to Sample Road and connected back to Mt. Royal and beyond.
