A brewery set to open soon in Pittsburgh’s Strip District neighborhood sustained a fire early Friday morning.

Just after midnight on Friday, a passerby noticed smoke coming out of Bonafide Beer Co. at 21st Street between Penn Avenue and Smallman Street, according to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI.

The passerby called the fire department, which responded promptly and extinguished the flames.

No one was inside the building. The fire is now under investigation.

In September 2021, Bonafide said it was working on efforts to open soon, according to its Facebook account. The brewery has not yet opened.
