A Derry Township man is charged with assaulting a child.

Jordache R. Larrabee, 32, of the village of Torrance, was arrested on multiple charges this week including aggravated assault of a child after state police troopers discovered multiple bruises on a child, according to Trooper Gregory Frank.

The child was taken to the hospital by ambulance for observation and treatment, Frank said. County children’s services was notified.

Investigators suspect Larrabee inflicted the injuries during the last few weeks, Frank said.

Larrabee was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault of a child, harassment, reckless endangerment and simple assault. He was released after posting $5,000 bail, according to court dockets.

He was sentenced to serve one year of probation after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct following an October 2020 altercation.

Larrabee could not be reached for comment. He did not have an attorney listed in court documents.
