Dilveer Chaggar is quite familiar with the inner workings of the men’s soccer program at Seton Hill.

He was an assistant — full-time, volunteer and as a graduate — with the team for the last six years, so he knows the players and is in touch with the recruiting process.

A former all-region and all-conference player for the Griffins, Chaggar was announced Monday as the new head coach of the Griffins, replacing Dan McCarty.

A native of Milton Keynes, England, Chaggar was named to the NSCAA/NCAA All-Atlantic Regional team as a senior in 2014. With him on the coaching staff, the team made the PSAC Tournament five times, reaching the semifinals three times.

Chaggar, who lived in Monchengladbach, Germany, was 16 when he signed a contract to play for the Burnley Football Club.

He also was an assistant with the Griffins’ women’s team last season.
