Middle school girls took part in the North Allegheny School District’s annual G.O.L.D. event on March 4 at the North Allegheny Intermediate High School.

The Girls Only Leadership Development program is designed to help girls gain the leadership skills needed for success in high school and beyond.

It is led by more than 90 female high school students who attend training to guide and mentor 8th grade girls during this event.

The program is open to all eighth grade girls in NA’s Carson, Ingomar and Marshall middle schools. G.O.L.D is designed to help girls gain a positive self-image, make healthy and positive life choices, build self-confidence, and make new friends. Girls form relationships with girls from other middle schools, which helps them ease the transition into high school.
