The North Hills School Board held its annual reorganization meeting on Dec. 7.
Current school board president Allison Mathis was unanimously elected for another term and will hold the position until December 2022.
“It is both an honor and a great responsibility to serve as president of the North Hills School Board,” Mathis said.
Mathis said she is looking forward to continuing to serve on the board and to also “serve the community as a responsible citizen.”
“Though these continue to be challenging times, I am confident that we will continue to work together as a board remaining focused on education and what is best for the district,” she said.
Board member Helen “Dee” Spade, who joined the meeting by phone, was also chosen to retain her position as board vice president for another year.
Newly elected board members Elizabeth Nease and Michael Santucci were sworn in during the meeting, along with the reelected Mathis and board member Sandra Kozera.
Nease said she was honored to be sworn in as a member of the board.
“The district already does so many amazing things and I am excited to begin working with the board and (superintendent) Dr. (Patrick) Mannarino to provide even more opportunities for our students and residents,” Nease said.
In other business, Michael Arnold of SitelogIQ and members of his team made a presentation on how the West View Elementary School renovation is proceeding. Subcontractors Schrader Group, Commonground and Florida Consulting have been brought in to help with items such as architecture, civil engineering and roofing, with the remaining services being handled in-house by SitelogIQ.
The company has been working on the renovation planning since mid-September, and is still in the prioritization and planning stages.
The next meeting of the North Hills School Board will be held Jan. 6.
