Mick Jagger stopped and smelled the roses, or some flowers, during his time in Pittsburgh.

A day after he and the Rolling Stones wowed the crowd during a concert at Heinz Field, Jagger visited Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Oakland.

He posted a photo of himself among the flora clad in a flowered shirt on Instagram. Phipps re-posted it.

Joe Reed, director of marketing and communications at Phipps, said the staff didn’t exchange words with Jagger beyond the usual welcome for all guests. Jagger had visited a few years ago.

“So he got to enjoy a tranquil stroll on a quiet Tuesday,” Reed wrote. “I assume he enjoyed.”

Phipps wrote “Thanks for the visit Sir Jagger!” on social media. “Hope you had a ‘Ruby Tuesday’ among the flowers at Phipps.”

Jagger wrote, “Thanks Pittsburgh for giving us a great time.” More than 1,800 people commented on the post, including Phipps, which said “Thanks for the visit! You Rock!”

Another person wrote about the concert: “Thank you guys for an awesome night! I haven’t had such a good time in such a long time.”

There were 53 comments on Phipps’ Instagram by Wednesday afternoon — from people saying “I thought I saw him” to he is “music royalty” to “COOL” to “oh, this is epic” to “I would have fainted lol!”

Jagger also tweeted a photo from Heinz Field as he warmed up before the Monday performance.
