A Hempfield woman awaiting trial on charges that she threw a cup of hot coffee on a state trooper in January is now accused of throwing urine at a jail guard.

Westmoreland County detectives charged Sonya R. Connors, 52, with aggravated harassment by a prisoner before Hempfield District Judge Mark Mansour.

Detective James Williams alleges that, on April 15, Connors reached under her cell door with a cup of urine and threw it at a female guard at the Westmoreland County Prison. Williams reported the guard barely got out of the way and requested Connors be arrested.

The incident was recorded by security video.

Connors is in the county jail awaiting trial on charges of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, harassment, resisting arrest, retail theft and simple assault filed by state police after a Jan. 5 incident at the Burger King in the Youngwood Commons Plaza. Troopers were at the restaurant to question Connors about a retail theft when she is accused of throwing hot coffee on a trooper.
