Vandergrift residents will have an opportunity to hear from three borough council candidates Thursday at a candidate forum at the Center on Franklin Avenue.

Three four-year council seats are up for election this year.

Candidates expected to attend include Republicans Tim Turner and Karen McClarnon and Democrat John Uskaritis. Council President Kathy Chvala and Steve Jurovic, both Democrats, are unable to attend.

The forum is scheduled to run from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

A news release announcing the forum said it’s being thrown by borough residents and not by any of the candidates themselves or any organization.

”We will oversee this forum with no agenda or bias,” the news release said. “Our desire is to hear from the candidates, so that we can each make an informed choice at the polls in a few weeks.”

The Center is located at 262 Franklin Ave. in East Vandergrift.
