A man was shot and wounded in Brackenridge on Saturday afternoon, police said.

The shooting was reported at 5:13 p.m. at a home on Third Avenue.

A neighbor who lives two houses down and declined to give her name said she heard a gunshot, ran to her door and heard a man shout that he couldn’t feel his leg.

When police and paramedics responded to a 911 call, they discovered the victim, a 29-year-old man, with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The man was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Brackenridge police Sgt. Michael Duffy said. He was listed in stable condition, Allegheny County Police said.

Allegheny County Police detectives responded to the scene and spoke to the victim, who said he was shot by someone driving by in a blue pickup. Detectives are attempting to verify the victim’s account.

There are no suspects, and a motive for the shooting is unclear, police said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Allegheny County Police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477). Callers may remain anonymous. The department also can be reached via its social media sites.
