There were no serious injuries when a Mutual Aid medical transport van rear-ended a minivan in Hempfield, according to firefighters at the scene.
The crash, which occurred at the corner of Route 66 Business and Franconia Road, happened shortly after 5 p.m.
Both vans were traveling south.
The mutual aid van was transporting a man home after a doctor’s appointment, according to North Hempfield firefighter Bob Laskey.
The man recently had back surgery. He was taken to Excela Westmoreland Hospital to be evaluated, Laskey said.
Firefighters redirected northbound traffic off of Route 66 Business.
State police, North Hempfield Fire Department and Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department Hose Company No. 1 responded.
