A Chicago cover band is officially coming from Russia to Greensburg, but SummerSounds concert series organizers still are hoping for donors to help pay for it.

SummerSounds announced last week it was hoping to book Leonid and Friends, which is planning a U.S. tour this summer.

However, booking Leonid and Friends costs more than $8,000. The average SummerSounds band costs $2,500.

The series launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the cost.

This week SummerSounds sealed the deal, booking Leonid and Friends for a free-to-the-public show at St. Clair Park for June 28.

The fundraiser still has a long way to go. As of Tuesday afternoon, it has raised $1,900 of its $10,000 goal.

SummerSounds is celebrating its 20th season. This year’s season starts June 1 with an unannounced band.
